Just recently, one of my classmates, Uyi Idahor, has created
an apparel line in which she wants to embrace and reawaken the inner QUEEN in
every woman. She explains that the purpose of her idea, the brand and its very
unique name, "Queen REDEFINED" is to validate the message that
EVERY woman embodies what it means to be a Queen. To make sure that the females
of our generation and the generations to come do not forget the importance of
their value, their true self-worth and learn to awaken the Queen within.
She says there are many factors that play a role in why the
concept of self-respect and self-worth are declining and she wants to focus on
sending out an optimistic message in addition to the increased physical and
mental value that the apparel will have on the individual. Self-esteem is a big
part of an individual’s conception of who they are and who they are not, how
they view themselves and how they think society views them.
She started the apparel line entitled “Queen ReDefined” to
restore, increase and uphold the confidence within women. She wants women to
know that despite life’s circumstances, every woman is born a Queen and will
forever embody a Queen. In addition, she says she's noticed that we as women
have a hard time coming together, adjusting, and supporting one another and
each other’s differences and perspectives on life. This clothing line will help
bring women together from all walks of life by showing that the one thing we
ALL have in common is the ability to embody the essence of what it means to be
a true Queen.
